Paul Gaytan earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas School of Law in 1998, and has been practicing personal injury law
in South Texas for 20 years. Prior to law school, Paul graduated with high honors from Texas Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He also attended the University of London where he studied Shakespeare and English Common Law. Paul is a sixth generation Texan, raised in a small town that valued hard work, integrity and humility.
Paul Gaytan started his legal career working for a well-respected insurance defense firm in McAllen, where he became a named Partner and opened/managed the Corpus Christi office for the firm. During his ten years at the firm, Paul was hired by insurance companies to defend their insureds in personal injury cases throughout South Texas.
In 2008, Paul founded the Gaytán Law Firm to represent victims of personal injury. He utilizes the experience and knowledge gained from working on the insurance defense side to get the best results for his clients.
Paul is also the former Chair of South Texas College’s Paralegal Department, where he was an Instructor and taught every legal course offered in the program. Paul was regarded by his students for being able to teach difficult concepts in an easy to understand manner, a skill that he brings to the courtroom to win cases for his clients.
Paul is dedicated to serving his community and provides various free legal services to low income clients. He is a recognized member of the State Bar of Texas Pro Bono College and State Bar of Texas Care Campaign.
A proud family man, Paul has been married to his college sweetheart Claudia since 1994. They have two children, three dogs and a cat. Their daughter is a college student and professional photographer, and their son is a high school student and accomplished violinist.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys outdoor activities with his family, including long-distance running, kayaking the Rio Grande River, surfing/swimming at South Padre Island, and playing golf.
