RECALL ALERT! 50 Million Airbags Recalled For Causing Injury and Death

Takata, an airbag manufacturing company, has announced a recall of over 50 million defective airbags within 37 million vehicles in the United States.

According to the National Highway Traffic Administration, the Takata airbag recall was made after reports of airbags exploding when deployed. Takata believes that long-term exposure to heat and humidity is likely the issue. These airbag explosions have, to date, killed 15 victims and caused injuries to at least 250 others.

How Else Can I Check If My Vehicle Has A Recall?

The NHTSA website has a handy search tool that allows you to enter your VIN number and search for any recalls regarding your specific vehicle.

What Should I Do If I Own Any Of These Vehicles?

Takata and the NHTSA have urged any affected vehicle owners to contact their dealership immediately to remove the recalled airbags and install new airbags.

I Am A Victim of Injury Due To A Defective Takata Airbag. What Should I Do?

It is important that you speak to a defective product lawyer as soon as possible. If you have been injured as a result of these airbags, you may be entitled to compensation. Time is, however, of the essence as any legitimate product liability case hinges on as much evidence as possible, including the product itself. In this case, we would need to act quickly to recover your vehicle and the defective airbag.
