5 Deaths in 70-100 Vehicle Pileup In Fort Worth, Texas; Multiple Injuries Reported

MAJOR CRASH IN FORT WORTH

February 11, 2021, 10:30 AM – KDFW Fox 4 has reported that at least 5 persons have died in a 70-100 vehicle pileup in Fort Worth, Texas Thursday morning. The major accident happened along both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-35 just North of downtown Fort Worth.

Fort Worth fire officials reported multiple injuries at the site as first responders and paramedics continued to check each car individually. A representative from MedStar stated that they have transported at least 30 individuals to local hospitals for emergency care.

Officials believe that the cause of the accident was likely due to icy conditions caused by overnight freezing rain in the area along I-35.

Photographs and video of the incident also show multiple 18-wheelers involved in the pile-up as both lanes of the highway remained closed through the morning.
