Dr. Zamora Has Been Denied Bond For A Third Time

U.S. District Judge Ricardo H. Hinojosa denied Dr. Zamora-Quezada, who stands trial for a health care fraud scheme that involved misdiagnosing numerous patients, has denied Dr. Zamora to be released on bond for the third time.

Dr. Zamora’s attorneys argue that the reason they were requesting for his release was due to their inability to properly review potential case material with Dr. Zamora as the East Hidalgo Detention Center does not allow for laptops to be taken into the facility.

Judge Hinojosa said that he would speak to the warden himself to grant the exception for Dr. Zamora, however, the judge denied Dr. Zamora’s outright release as he is still considered a flight risk as has strong connections in Mexico.

Dr. Zamora is being charged with a litany of offenses including Conspiracy to Commit Health Care Fraud, Health Care Fraud, and Money Laundering. Three other defendants, who include his wife, Meisy Angelica Zamora, and two former employees, Estella Santos Natera and Felix Ramos, are all being charged with similar crimes for their roles in the dangerous scheme.
